Hi everyone, it's been awhile since I updated. Art has been slow the last few months with all the extra shifts I have been working. I hope do add some new images soon. I'm starting to work with a friend on a new project with some music. So well soon see where that goes. I'm pretty excited to be working with someone else this time. I'll try to update soon, so keep an eye out!

So classes are officallly over. I keep on saying I'm going to add more projects it's been a while and I haven't worked on much the last month or so. Hopefully I'll have time to get some work done. Having a bit of trouble with my latest image so it's gonna take some more time. Inspiration is a bit slow atm, I think it's getting ready for summer early lol. Anyway enjoy your summer get out and get some sun. Check for new additions soon! :)

To anyone who might acctually read my blog...It's been a while since I posted anything, just been busy with work and bills like everyone else. I am working on some more images, the liberty state series is put on hold for now, dunno kind of feeling bored with it, I'm sure I'll get back to it soon enough.

I've been playing around with Terragen 2, and working more in zbrush lately, I'll post some images soon, anyway that's all for this small update.

So I started my asteroid study. The asteroid was done with zbrush, I made several tools (asteroids) and I happy with the results. I did a quick space scene to test how they might look in space, later I plan on doing a larger scene of an asteroid field with other space elements. Background nebula and planet painted in photoshop.

You can find a link to the tutorial in the tutorials section.

Quick Space

I have added another nebula study to the space section, image is reduced a bit. I am attempting to get better at space paintings, look for more to be added soon.

BnW LogoOk I found an old disk with quite a bit of art work from the past, so I added a slew of images to the Logos, Signatures, 3d Art, Web Design, and Misc. Sections of the portfolio, some additional images added to images already in the section. Much of what I added is from back in 2002 to 2005. Obviously online game based stuff. Some are not on the first page, so don't forget to scroll down and check the other pages.

It's intresting to see all my old stuff, it brings back good memories...and bad ones lol, but it was all in fun and I still enjoy the work, it reminds me of where I came from and to see all the old styles I used. So check it out and enjoy!

The Art of John Crash Matos

This weekend I went to The Quick Center for the Arts here at Fairfield University to see works by John "Crash" Matos Here's an excerpt from their site:

Fairfield University is honored to pay tribute to one of graffiti's All Stars - the Bronx Bomber of the art world: CRASH. John "Crash" Matos is a world-famous artist whose career began surreptitiously in the mid 1970s at the age of 13 in the train yards of the South Bronx. His exhibit, The Art of John "Crash" Matos, runs from Jan. 28 through Feb. 28, 2010 at the Thomas J. Walsh Art Gallery at Fairfield University's Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts.

I have always loved graffiti I had even done some myself as a kid, tagging walls and the odd building here and there and even once painted a mural on my own bedroom wall, which of course due to my parents, didn't last too long.

Click the image to see a slideshow of John's work. Read more about the exhibit here. You can find Crashes website by clicking here.

Ok well here's the new space scene image I wanted to upload last week but for some reason the bottom part of the rocks are still losing the detail when uploading to the portofolio section so I added a direct link to it and it's fine...shrugs...I'll have to see if it does the same thing to other images. If it does I'll have to consider getting a new portfolio module. Anyway clicking on the image below will link to the full view with proper detail.

This was a space scene I decided to turn into a mock DVD/movie poster. Nothing crazy but I liked it. It was a good exercise

Hidden Agenda

Well I was going to post a new Space scene Titled Hidden Agenda, but for some reason it's getting partially corrupted on upload. So it's going to have to wait until later or tomorrow. Looks good on my desktop bg though :) I'll have to reopen it in photoshop and save it again. Hopefully it will upload properly later. Hmm maybe it's time for a new flash drive...I did add another old Mercweb theme to the web design section, nothing spectacular but something else to look at.

This is the first in a series of drawings/paintings based around American military imagery and icons I'm calling Liberty State. I have a few sketches of the others in the series but these will prolly take some time to finish. My physical painting skills are somewhat lacking as you can see in the second image so more than likely i will scan this into the computer and finish it off in photoshop.
